Hundreds of mourners gathered at St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell police constable Mia Lay, 20, who was killed in a collision while on duty. She was posthumously awarded honours at the funeral service.

In the Beau Lamarre-Condon murder trial, a detective became emotional in the witness box while describing the discovery of victims. The scene drew a reaction from people in the courtroom. Separately, hundreds gathered at Bondi Beach for a vigil commemorating three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023. The crowd stood in remembrance as the anniversary was observed across Sydney.
