Canadians are gearing up for Thanksgiving weekend with steeper prices at the store, as multiple outlets report turkey and feast costs are up this year. Shoppers are spending more on holiday staples, with CityNews Calgary and Global News both noting the added pressure on household budgets.
Parts of the Prairies may receive up to 10 cm of snow over the long weekend, making road trips more difficult. The OPP warns Thanksgiving is one of the most dangerous long weekends for road fatalities in Ontario. Motorists should plan ahead and adjust their routes before hitting the road.
On a lighter note, fall colours are peaking in Gatineau Park, drawing visitors to the region before the season turns.
